Pressure Wave Films is a production company dedicated to creating provocative, compelling films that challenge our assumptions about storytelling, and our assumptions about ourselves.

An earthquake generates two kinds of shock waves. The pressure wave travels fast, but causes no damage. The shear wave travels more slowly and can cause great destruction. So the pressure wave arrives everywhere first, before any ground movement. Scientists think many animals can detect the pressure wave and so sense the quake before it arrives. Pressure waves may one day form the basis of a last-minute earthquake warning system.
